When I was 12 years old, I took my first steps on the stage in a local pantomime, uttering the inimitable words "Cor, she won't 'alf look old when she wakes up" to Sleeping Beauty just after that moment...you know the bit! From then on and for more than 30 years I've had such incredible luck to have acted, sung, occasionally made an absolute fool of myself, and even signed a lot of autographs (I still can't quite believe that this genuinely used to happen!). Feel free to ask me about it but, be warned, you may just have to tell me to shut up before I go on forever!
One of the things I loved was having headshots, show pictures and performance shots done, as, of course, I wanted to document what I'd done as well as use them for self promotion. Now that I'm primarily on the other side of the camera, I still get a huge kick out of every facet of performing, from the behind-the-scenes creation to the audience perspective, and I put a lot of energy into capturing as many special moments, and the shots that I, as a performer would have loved to have received from a photographer. Truly a labour of love, I am a very lucky person to still be working in an industry I live and love with every part of me.
Some of the types of shoots I do are show programme headshots, show photos (usually the dress rehearsal), gig photos, theatre school shows and ceremonies. I'm aways happy to discuss something different though!
Give me a call or drop me an email and let me know what you're up to and let's come up with a plan to capture some great images to promote or document your performance.
